Definitions and Usage of Prepositions
English: ‘In’ is used to show that something is enclosed or surrounded by something else.
हिंदी: ‘In’ का प्रयोग यह दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है कि कोई वस्तु किसी दूसरी वस्तु के भीतर या चारों ओर से घिरी हुई है।
Example: The fish is in the bowl.
(मछली कटोरे में है।)
English: ‘On’ is used to indicate that something is touching a surface and is supported by it.
हिंदी: ‘On’ का प्रयोग यह बताने के लिए किया जाता है कि कोई वस्तु किसी सतह (Surface) को छू रही है और उसके ऊपर टिकी है।
Example: The cat is on the chair.
(बिल्ली कुर्सी पर है।)
English: ‘Under’ is used to show that something is at a lower level than something else, often covered by it.
हिंदी: ‘Under’ का प्रयोग यह दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है कि कोई वस्तु किसी दूसरी वस्तु के ठीक नीचे या उससे कम ऊंचाई पर है।
Example: The dog is under the table.
